Memcached in Hosting
You can use the Memcached memory caching system with all hosting that we’re offering. It is offered as an upgrade, which you can get with just a couple of clicks of the mouse from your Hepsia website hosting Control Panel. It requires a PHP extension, which is already installed on our cloud web hosting platform, so you can start using the Memcached caching system as soon as you add it. The upgrade is separated into two parts, which will give you more flexibility depending on the sites that you would like to use it for. The first one indicates the number of the sites that will use Memcached, or the so-called ‘instances’, while the second one is related to the memory, in other words – to how much content the system will be able to cache. You can get more memory in increments of 16 megabytes and the more memory you’ve ordered, the more content will be cached, which may be a quite good idea for frequently visited websites with large-sized databases and plenty of visitors. In this way, you can enhance the performance of any script-driven website hosted on our cloud servers without efforts.
Memcached in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you get any of our semi-dedicated server packages, you’ll find Memcached as an optional feature in the Upgrades section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, so if you’d like to use it for any of the sites hosted in your semi-dedicated account, you can enable it with just a few clicks of the mouse. The content caching platform is suitable for any script-powered app like WordPress, Joomla™, or even a tailor-made app, and based on your demands, you’ll be able to choose two different things – how many websites will use the Memcached platform, in other words – the number of instances; and how much content will be stored, in other words – the amount of memory that the platform will employ. The two features are not tied to each other, so if you have a busy Internet site with a lot of data, you can get one instance and a larger amount of memory. The Memcached platform will enhance the performance of your Internet sites soon after you enable it and both you and your visitors will enjoy faster load speeds.
Memcached in VPS Servers
Memcached comes by default with all VPS servers ordered with our custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel. The PHP extension it needs in order to perform properly is compiled when the virtual server is set up, so you can start using the caching platform the moment your brand-new Virtual Private Server is completely operational. The memory that the Memcached platform can use depends on the particular VPS plan, but even with the low-end ones, you will get several hundred megabytes that will be at your disposal exclusively for this platform. This will permit you to boost the performance of numerous websites hosted on the VPS server at the same time and to lower the load on the virtual machine even if you manage popular script-powered portals with multiple users. Memcached can be used with any script – Mambo, Drupal™ or Joomla™, or a custom-developed one, and you will detect the better performance soon after you start using it.
Memcached in Dedicated Servers
Each dedicated server that’s ordered with our Hepsia hosting Control Panel comes with Memcached already installed by default, so you can start using this content caching system as soon as the server is fully functional, without the need to upgrade or activate anything. The amount of memory that Memcached can use depends on the dedicated server that you have chosen, but as our servers are astonishingly powerful and due to the fact that it is likely that you will host resource-requiring websites on them, the minimum amount of memory that the caching system can use is three gigabytes. This will permit you to accelerate the performance of very large sites without effort and you will note the difference soon after the Memcached caching system starts caching database requests. You can make use of the Memcached system with any database-driven site, including those based on famous Content Management Systems such as WordPress and Joomla™.
